Manchester United 26/27 training shirt

The Manchester United 26/27 training shirt goes for a deep black with a texture of fine vertical stripes, broken up by a red rose print concentrated on the shoulders, the sleeves and the lower part of the sides. The sleeves, entirely red, complete the contrast and reinforce the club’s colour identity. The collar is round in black, the crest is embroidered on the chest framed by a rose drawn in red, and the brand logo sits in white on the other side.

The rose is no casual ornament: it is the symbol of the county of Lancashire and a hallmark of Manchester and the Red Devils, a club born as Newton Heath and turned into a world giant from Old Trafford, the Theatre of Dreams. Red, white and black have always accompanied a team with an enormous collection of English league titles and great European nights.

How to measure

The most reliable way is to measure a shirt you already own that fits you well. Lay it flat without stretching it:

• Chest: measure from armpit to armpit and multiply by two. Compare the result with the “Chest” column.
• Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, down to the hem.
• Kids: go by height; age is only a guide.
• Trainers: stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres.
