South Africa 26/27 home shirt

South Africa’s home kit for the 26/27 season goes for the intense yellow that identifies Bafana Bafana, with a geometric zigzag pattern repeated across the front and the sleeves in a slightly darker tone. The collar is round, green and edged with a yellow trim, the same finish that tops off the cuffs. Green stripes appear on the shoulders, and on the chest the federation crest, the emblem with the protea and the brand logo sit together.

Green and yellow have been the colours of the South African national team since its return to international competition, shared with the rest of the country’s sport. South Africa lifted the Africa Cup of Nations in 1996 as hosts and staged the 2010 World Cup, two milestones that shaped its football history and its emotional bond with the fans, loyal to the vuvuzelas and to stadiums such as Soccer City in Johannesburg.

How to measure

The most reliable way is to measure a shirt you already own that fits you well. Lay it flat without stretching it:

• Chest: measure from armpit to armpit and multiply by two. Compare the result with the “Chest” column.
• Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, down to the hem.
• Kids: go by height; age is only a guide.
• Trainers: stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres.
