Goalkeeper shirt in purple from top to bottom, with a tonal pattern of irregular strokes, almost like waves or veins in stone, that shows in different intensities depending on the light. The collar is round and in the same tone, the short sleeves have a raglan cut and the Esporte Clube Bahia crest is embroidered on the left chest, with its blue circle, the Bahian flag and the two golden stars above. The rest of the design stays clean, with no stripes or contrasts to break the whole.

Bahia, founded in 1931 in Salvador, is a major institution of football in north-eastern Brazil. Known as the Tricolor de Aço, it plays at the Arena Fonte Nova and claims to have been the first Brazilian champion in history, as well as another national title and a long list of Bahian championships. Its rivalry with Vitória, the Ba-Vi, is among the most intense in the country.

How to measure

The most reliable way is to measure a shirt you already own that fits you well. Lay it flat without stretching it:

• Chest: measure from armpit to armpit and multiply by two. Compare the result with the “Chest” column.
• Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, down to the hem.
• Kids: go by height; age is only a guide.
• Trainers: stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres.
