River Plate 26/27 third shirt

River Plate’s third kit for the 26/27 season goes for a deep violet base and breaks up the whole with the red diagonal band that crosses the chest from shoulder to hip, outlined in white along its lower edge. The collar is round, with red piping that repeats on the sides, the shoulders and the sleeve trim, where a darker reinforcement fabric can be seen. The club crest appears embroidered on the band, with the sportswear brand and the main sponsor in white in the central area.

El Millonario, born in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of La Boca and today identified with Núñez and the Estadio Monumental, has made the red band on a white background one of the most recognisable symbols of South American football. Record champions of the Argentine league, with several Copas Libertadores and an Intercontinental in the trophy cabinet, they star alongside Boca in the Superclásico.

How to measure

The most reliable way is to measure a shirt you already own that fits you well. Lay it flat without stretching it:

• Chest: measure from armpit to armpit and multiply by two. Compare the result with the “Chest” column.
• Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, down to the hem.
• Kids: go by height; age is only a guide.
• Trainers: stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres.
